Sweden is one of the most gay friendly countries in the world, with adoption rights for gay and lesbian couples in 2003, insemination rights for lesbians in 2005, and a prohibition of discrimination based on sexual orientation added to the Swedish constitution in 2011 being just some of the laws that have been passed.
There is an annual Pride Parade held every year, with unusually high participation rates: Over 450000 people watch the parade (on top of the 45000 participants in the parade itself) in a city of just 1.5 million people!
Sweden also prides itself in equal rights for every human being, and it is rare to experience any negativity based on race, colour, orientation or religion! So you should feel at home in Sweden, no matter who you are!
