Sweden is home to incredibly fresh and organic food! Many grocery stores carry a large selection of eco-friendly produce, meat and dairy, and many restaurants in Sweden are no different!
There are plenty of bakeries to satisfy your needs for fresh bread, pastries, cakes and sandwiches! If you're in town between February and Easter, don't forget to try Sweden's own pastry specialty, the Semla! It's a cardamom-spiced wheat bun with its top cut off, is filled with a mix of milk and almond paste, and topped with whipped cream! But don't worry if you can't make it in season, some bakeries sell Semla all year round!
And of course, you will have to try Sweden's famous meatballs! We listed a few classic restaurants on this site (depending on which region of Sweden you are visiting), so don't forget to try one of them or ask a local for a recommendation when you visit! And lastly, Sweden is surrounded by water, so you'll be able to find fresh seafood where ever you go!
