Drottningholm Palace, constructed in the seventeenth century, is not only the permanent residence of the royal family, but it is also one of Stockholm's three World Heritage Sites!
The Drottningholm Palace Theatre (located by the Palace) is one of the few 18th century theatres in Europe that is still used as a theatre with its original stage machinery (and candle lit stage!).
The extensive grounds make for a lovely walk any time of year, and include both a classic baroque garden as well as canals and lush greenery. The castle and grounds are located by the water making for a scenic visit!
